INTRODUCTION TO ST. PAUL'S REFORMED CHURCH

We are glad that you stopped at our website.  If this is your first time here, you probably have a few questions as to what we are all about.  I think we can be summarized with three words: confessional, congregational, and care-giving.

We are a confessional church, which means we trace our doctrine back to the classic doctrinal statements of the Reformation like the Heidelberg Catechism.  While many churches claim Reformation confessions as part of their heritage, sadly not all have remained faithful to them.  We believe that the doctrines found in such documents accurately reflect the plan and method of salvation found in God’s word.  We are committed to seeing the truth of the gospel proclaimed here and throughout the world.

We are also a congregational church.  While we share the same doctrine as many Reformed churches, such as the Presbyterian Church of America and the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, we are not affliated with any particular denomination.  We believe it is the responsibility of each congregation to establish and govern itself to God’s glory.

We are a care-giving church as well.  We believe it is the duty of the officers of this church to care for its members in all facets of life.  We  know it is of the greatest importance to show the love of Christ to those who find themselves hurting, grieving, suffering, and in need.  Most of all, we want to make sure that those who join with us in worship are growing in grace from a steady diet of the Word of God and the work of His Spirit.

This is who we are.  This only serves as an introduction.  We are happy to provide you with whatever help you need to see if this church is the place where God intends for you to make your church home.

In Christ,

Pastor Howard Sloan
